Who we are

TheFinSense is a financial education and research website operated from South Korea. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].

Information we collect

Information you provide

When you contact us by email or through the contact form, we may receive your name, email address, message, and any other information you choose to include.

Please do not send sensitive financial information. This includes passwords, brokerage account numbers, tax identification numbers, and payment-card details.

Information collected automatically

When you use the site, our hosting, security, consent-management, and analytics services may automatically process technical and usage information. This may include your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, and interactions with site features.

TheFinSense does not currently offer public comments or visitor account registration. Standard WordPress comment, Gravatar, public-login, and password-reset provisions therefore do not apply to ordinary visitors.

Calculator information

Values entered into TheFinSense calculators are processed in your browser and are not intentionally stored by TheFinSense. Our analytics setup may record that a calculator was used or that an input field was changed, but it is configured to record the calculator type and field name rather than the numerical value entered.

Cookies and consent choices

We use essential technologies to operate the site and remember your consent preferences. With your permission, we may also use analytics cookies or similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site.

You can accept, reject, or change non-essential cookie choices through the consent controls displayed on the site. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser. For current cookie categories and durations, see our Cookie Policy.

Analytics and site-interaction measurement

With the required consent where applicable, TheFinSense uses Google Analytics to measure traffic and site interactions. Analytics events may include page views, scroll depth, external-link clicks, FAQ expansions, and calculator interactions. We use this information to understand site performance, improve navigation, fix problems, and evaluate which content is useful.

Google may process information through cookies and similar identifiers in accordance with its own terms and privacy policies. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google’s partner-sites privacy page. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

How we use information

  • To operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website.
  • To respond to questions, research requests, correction notices, and other messages.
  • To measure site usage and improve content, accessibility, and user experience.
  • To detect abuse, fraud, spam, or security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies.

Depending on the context and applicable law, we rely on your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site, and compliance with legal obligations.

How we share information

We may share limited information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyze, and operate the site or deliver contact-form messages. These providers may process information only for the services they provide and under their own contractual and legal obligations.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect the rights or safety of TheFinSense or others, investigate misuse, or complete a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Embedded content and external links

Pages may contain links to or embedded content from third-party websites, such as research publishers, data providers, social platforms, or media hosts. Interacting with third-party content may allow that provider to collect information, use cookies, or track your interaction under its own privacy policy. TheFinSense does not control third-party privacy practices.

International processing

TheFinSense operates from South Korea and uses service providers that may process information in other countries, including the United States. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use available contractual, consent-based, or other lawful safeguards for cross-border processing.

How long we retain information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to messages, maintaining business and security records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and service settings. We may keep aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies an individual.

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority.

To make a privacy request, email [email protected]. Please describe your request clearly. We may need to verify your identity before completing it. These rights may be limited by applicable law, including where information must be retained for legal, security, or recordkeeping reasons.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children’s privacy

TheFinSense is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site or through another appropriate notice.
